This is Landscape in Reverse.
I sound designed and scored Thibault Duchesne’s video installation “This is Landscape in Reverse”, as part of the collective exhibition “Les Paradis Perdus” comissionned by the Compagnie Française de l’Orient et de la Chine.
Thus we made a journey.
Every landscape, thousand islands, fruitful forever.
Lying there dreamily in the primeval lights of March.
We looked upon them, shining like quantic monuments.
On the edge of the garden of Earth,
the wild and sublime meet you in endless variety.
Bright exuberance, Nature's own.
This is landscape in reverse.
Building a mountain range of fertile cumuli,
The sky sent its sails, boundless wilderness of magnetic clouds,
Like crystal chambers ready to tear.
I saw the sun-gold before darkness claimed its land.
Pouring its lush will on the shores of the day,
The forest kingdom was blazing in its prime.
Walking among all the verdure, every sense unfolding,
I searched for a bed.
For I had drifted about unconsciously.
I was glad to escape to the wilderness again,
Bathed by the blithe air, triumphant exuberance.
I made a long exploration into infinite space.
